Borealis July 2026 Release
Smarter Data Management, Easier Migrations and Improved Dealer Support
The July 2026 Borealis release introduces new tools to make migrating, managing and expanding access control systems faster and more intuitive.
Highlights include CSV cardholder imports, an AI-powered Grid Assistant, dedicated Dealer Support pages, bulk credential management and new subscription planning tools. The release also includes several reporting, hardware and communication improvements.
Import Cardholders and Credentials from a CSV File
System Owners can now import cardholder and credential information from a CSV file, including files exported from third-party access control systems.
The guided import process allows operators to select and map the required data fields before creating the new cardholder records in Borealis. This provides a faster, more flexible route for bringing existing cardholder data into a Borealis system.
CSV Import is currently controlled by a feature flag and must be activated on your system before it can be used.
Find and Export Information with the AI Grid Assistant
The new AI Grid Assistant gives operators a more intuitive way to work with data throughout Borealis.
On pages that use a grid view, operators can type or use voice input to describe the information they want to find. The assistant can then help define the required search, filter and data-exporting criteria.
Create a Dedicated Dealer Support Page
Organization Owners can now create a Dealer Support page containing the contact details of the company responsible for installing or supporting the system.
The page can include:
- Website address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Business opening hours
- An embedded website contact page
A Dealer Support page can be assigned across every system in an organization or applied only to selected systems.
Save Operator Display Preferences
Borealis now remembers each operator’s preferred filters, visible columns and number of items displayed per page.
These preferences are saved individually for each operator, helping them return to their preferred working view each time they use the system. A reset button is available on each supported screen whenever the default view is needed.
Bulk Archive or Delete Cardholder Data
System Owners now have the option to archive or delete all cardholders, credentials and PINs within a system.
This is particularly useful when a large block of credential information has been imported or enrolled incorrectly. Borealis creates a backup file before the operation, which can be used to restore critical data if necessary. Please note that some data fields are not retained within the backup.
Clearer Hub and Site Deletion Warnings
When an operator attempts to delete a hub or site, Borealis now displays an enhanced warning listing the associated hardware that will also be deleted.
This gives the operator a clearer understanding of the impact before confirming the action.
View Credential Usage by Format
A new credential count has been added to the Credential Formats summary screen.
This shows the number of enrolled credentials associated with each active credential format, making it easier to understand which formats are currently in use.
Estimate the Cost of Adding Readers
System Owners can now estimate the cost of adding more readers to a system from the Price List tab on the Subscription screen.
The estimate is calculated using the system’s currently assigned price list, providing a quick indication of the expected additional subscription cost.
Earlier Subscription Renewal Reminders
Borealis will now issue an additional courtesy renewal notification 60 days before a subscription’s renewal date.
This complements the existing 30-day reminder and gives customers more time to review and prepare for an upcoming renewal.
Additional Improvements and Fixes
The July release also includes the following hardware, reporting and reliability updates:
- Standard NXT controllers can now be moved to a different hub correctly.
- Mercury MP firmware v2.10 is now available through Borealis. MP controllers must be running at least firmware v2.6 before upgrading to v2.10.
- PXL Exit readers remain visible when a PXL-500-2D controller is converted to a PXL-500-IO controller.
- Excel transaction report exports now display the expected message description instead of an integer in column A.
- Custom-field data now displays correctly within transaction reports.
- An issue that could cause a hub to cycle repeatedly between online and offline status has been corrected.
Available Now in Borealis
The July 2026 update continues our work to make Borealis simpler to deploy, easier to manage and more useful for dealers and system owners.
